Graduate Student

B.S. Chemistry - Southwestern University

About Me

Meghana Nittala (Meghu) completed her undergraduate degree at Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX, earning a Bachelor of Science in ACS-certified Chemistry and a minor in Business Administration. At Southwestern, Meghu conducted research in the Sara C. Massey Lab, where they explored the spectral features and dynamics of the diatom species Phaeodactylum tricornutum (P. tricornutum) using techniques such as Time-Resolved Emission Spectroscopy (TRES) and UV-Vis spectroscopy. Their project focused on comparing energy transfer in different ecotypes of P. tricornutum under stressful light conditions. Meghu also gained industry experience as an intern at MilliporeSigma.

Outside of research, you can find her chatting with friends, learning to play the Bansuri flute, exploring new coffee shops, and engaging in videography.
