Fengyi Gu

Fengyi grew up in China, and she came to the United States in 2018 pursuing her study in chemistry. She earned Bachelor of Science in general chemistry from University of California, Irvine (2022). She performed research in the Van Vranken Laboratory, and the focus of research is the development of metal-catalyzed carbenylative insertion reactions.

Fengyi joined Professor Newberry’s laboratory in 2022 and works on protein misfolding in human disease.
